A Trip To A Place Called Manjung

That's me standing with wet feet at Teluk Batik. I followed Joo Liang back to his hometown, Sitiawan, and he graciously took me for a spin around the place.

This here is in Sitiawan, they are baking cookies. Fabulous stuff. Onion and pork meat. Best eaten hot.

Boats for hire at the Lumut waterfront.

Randomly placed jerry cans of unknown flammable liquids.

Cool looking windmill along the coast. Last one standing.

Ah, sunset over the pier.

Another view.

Yes, I promise this is the last sunset of the series.

At the joss stick factory, I saw dragon heads, lots of 'em.

Joss sticks drying under the cool shade.

Timid factory guard dog.

Painters workshop. Look at the dyes, so bright.

Cookies, they are not. Joss stick embellishments made from sawdust.

Ditto. Unpainted dragon heads.

Times are changing. Fishing village in the foreground, modern coal fired power plant in the background.

Surprisingly tame monkey at the Mangrove Forest.

The aforementioned mangrove forest. Smells funky.
